Sulfinert Passivated 2.5 & 4L Sample Cylinders

   In order to properly perform ISBT sampling method 1.0 "LIQUID CARBON DIOXIDE SAMPLING USING PASSIVATED CYLINDERS WITH DIP TUBES", and when large amounts of LCO₂ are required for some analyzers, lot retention or special tests, ALI offers dip-tube equipped SPC-2.5L & SPC-4L (2.5 & 4L) sampling cylinders. These larger cylinders are Sulfinert passivated to prevent “wall-adsorption” effects that can be experienced with sulfur compounds and other trace impurities. Proper use of our dip-tube equipped cylinders eliminates the need for cylinder weighing, which makes liquid CO₂ sampling both easier and safer to perform.

For enhanced sampling convenience and added safety these large dual-ended cylinders come equipped with carrying handles and end caps. An optional, rugged tripod cylinder stand (p/n CS-4) is highly recommended for sampling. This stand allows these cylinders to be securely held in a vertical position during LCO₂ filling.

We also supply 5’ passivated, high pressure flex tubing (p/n ST-5) for easy cylinder connections to the source valve. Rugged, plastic storage/shipping cases with wheels and pull-out handles are also available. All of our sampling cylinders are leak checked/THC-tested to ensure cleanliness (a 20 psig [138 kPa] N₂ charge is maintained) and are shipped ready-to-use.

 Components

 -Sulfinert passivated needle valve [outlet] with 1800 psig [12,400 kPa] burst disk, Kel-F soft-tip stem, 1/4” NPT (F) port, + dip-tube (sized for a safe, 58% liquid CO₂ fill as per USA CGA G-6.3 “Carbon Dioxide Cylinder Filling & Handling Procedures”) + 1/4” brass pipe cap (M)/10” lanyard assembly. All parts documentation is included.

 -Sulfinert passivated 2.5 or 4 Liter cylinder, dual-ended, DOT-3A1800 rated, serial numbered + hydro-test date- stamped. A Dip-tube orientation decal is affixed. All parts documentation is included. Dual end caps are provided.

- Sulfinert passivated needle valve [inlet] with Kel-F soft-tip stem + 1/4” brass compression plug (F)/10” nylon-coated lanyard assembly. All parts documentation is included.

-Sulfinert passivated, "sacrificial" 1/4” NPT (M)-to-1/4" compression (M) fitting (assembled on cylinder inlet valve).

-Pictorial Sampling/Shipping Instructions for ISBT Method 1.0 sampling + proper HAZMAT shipping recommendations. 

 Maintenance Services

 ALI stocks all necessary replacement parts for these cylinders and can provide customers with periodic (5-yr. USA) cylinder re-inspection, hydrostatic re-test / re-certification services, as per USA DOT requirements. Cylinder cleaning and maintenance programs are also offered

-SPRA-1800: A Sulfinert passivated, 1800 psig [12,400 kPa] pressure-relief assembly for interfacing ST-5 tubing to a CO₂ source-sampling valve. The SPRA-1800 is equipped with a 1/4" (F) inlet compression fitting and 1/4" (M) outlet compression fitting and is strongly recommended for ISBT sampling.

- ST-5: A Sulfinert & PTFE passivated, 5' [150 cm], high-pressure (3,000 psig [20,670 kPa]) rated, flexible ss sampling tubing with 1/4" compression fittings (F/F). The ST-5 is ideal for connecting an SPC-1L to a SPRA-1800 /liquid CO₂ source valve during ISBT sampling.

- CS-LG: Cylinder Support, made of a heavy-gauge steel for secure, vertical mounting of a 2.5 or 4L cylinder for sampling or connections to a CO₂ analyzer.

- CRYGL-14: The safe sampling of liquid CO₂ requires several types of safety equipment including cryogenic gloves for handling liquid CO₂. ALI recommends these 14" long gloves for all ISBT CO₂ sampling methods.

- SAFE-T-SHIELD: This ergonomic face shield is recommended for all ISBT CO₂ sampling methods.

- VPR-120-90: (120 VAC, 60 Hz, 100 watts) Sulfinert passivated liquid CO₂ vaporizer - pressure regulator with a 1800 psig [12,400 kPa] pressure relief disk + 90^o outlet needle valve - pressure regulator configuration (specify a PR-20 [0-20 psig] or PR-60 [0-60 psig] regulator). This module is used for connecting a 2.5 or 4L cylinder to CO₂ analyzers.
