LCO2 Sampling using NO-HAZ Kit

LCO2 Sampling & Shipping Instructions

using

No-Haz” LCO2 Sampling Kits

Our No-Haz LCO2 Sampling Kits contain 3 types of sample containers: 4, 1L True Blue Polybags (2 bags per shipping can), 1 Minicyl & 1 NVR container. All 4 Polybags & Minicyl must be filled with vaporized liquid phase CO2 from the same bulk source sampling point. This requires use of a passivated LCO2 vaporizer - pressure regulator (p/n VPR-120 or equivalent) with the delivery pressure set between 30 - 50 psig (40 psig delivery pressure is recommended for proper Polybag & Minicyl flushing & controlled filling).

The 2L NVR container is required to be filled with between 400 - 600 g of CO2 snow. This requires use of passivated snow making equipment (p/n Snowmaker 1.3 Kit or equivalent).

Recommendations:  A Thorough Minicyl flushing step before filling is essential for obtaining accurate trace O2 and % CO2 purity test results. It is suggested that Polybag filling be performed first, then after another extensive hardware flushing session, the Minicyl should be thoroughly flushed & filled. After this step, the vaporizer - pressure regulator should be removed and snowmaking equipment attached to the LCO2 source valve. Finally, snow collection & NVR fillling steps should be completed.

WARNING: Carefully follow all sampling & non-hazmat shipping instructions as listed below. DO NOT attempt to perform LCO2 sampling without a vaporizer-pressure regulator (VPR-120 or equivalent). DO NOT remove the 25 psig inlet check valve from the Minicyl at any time and DO NOT attempt to re-package & return this kit until all CO2 snow has completely evaporated from the NVR container. DO NOT describe the samples contained in these containers using ANY other terminology other than the proper title listed on the ENCLOSED RETURN SHIPPERS DOCUMENTS & RETURN SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS. Failure to follow these sampling & shipping instructions may result in a hazardous storage condition, significant regulatory agency fines or criminal charges. All rented kit equipment must be returned in good condition or a replacement fee will be imposed.

Proper Sampling & Shipping is the most important step in testing your CO2.

Please contact us if you have any questions about the safe and proper use of this kit or the return shipment process.
