Feedgas Sampling using NO-HAZ Kit

Feedgas Sampling & Shipping Instructions

using

No-Haz” Feedgas Sampling Kits

Our No-Haz CO2 Feedgas Sampling Kits contain 2 types of sample containers: 4, 1L True Blue Polybags (2 bags per shipping can) and 1 Minicyl. All 4 Polybags & Minicyl must be filled with gaseous CO2 from the same sampling point.

For very high pressure feedgas sources (feedgas pressures above 500 psig) a passivated LCO2 vaporizer - pressure regulator (p/n VPR-120 or equivalent) is required with the delivery pressure set between 30 - 50 psig (40 psig delivery pressure is recommended for proper flushing & controlled filling).

For feedgas source points with medium-high pressures between 5 - 500 psig, only a needle valve is required to obtain a desired gas flow for proper Polybag/Minicyl flushing and filling.

For low pressure (LT 5 psig) feedgas source points, use of a PolyVac Kit or clean inert 222-Pump Kit is required to generate an adequate positive gas flow for proper Polybag / Minicyl flushing & filling.

For high temperature (GT 125F [52C]), low pressure feedgas source points (e.g. combustion source stacks), use of an ALI Cool-Train Kit + 222-Pump is recommended to adequately cool the gas, trap condensate water and generate an adequate positive gas flow for proper Polybag / Minicyl flushing & filling.

Note 1: If semi-volatiles such as glycols, glycerols, PNA’s, phenols or metal-containing vapors are suspected, then use of an ALI Sorbent 1.4 Kit would be recommended as an additional sampling container.

Note 2: If Radioactive impurities such as Radon222 are suspected, then use of an ALI Radon222 Polybag Kit would be recommended as an additonal sample container.

Recommendations:  A Thorough Minicyl flushing step before filling is essential for obtaining accurate trace O2 and % CO2 purity test results. It is suggested that Polybag filling be performed first, then after another extensive hardware flushing session, the Minicyl should be thoroughy flushed & filled. If other special sampling methods are also requirred (for example sorbent-sampling) they should be performed after Minicyl sampling.

WARNING: Carefully follow all sampling & non-hazmat shipping instructions as listed below. DO NOT attempt to perform high pressure CO2 sampling without a vaporizer-pressure regulator (VPR-120 or equivalent). DO NOT remove the 25 psig inlet check valve from the Minicyl at any time and DO NOT attempt to re-package & return this kit until all CO2 snow has completely evaporated from the NVR container. DO NOT describe the samples contained in these containers using ANY other terminology other than the proper title listed on the ENCLOSED RETURN SHIPPERS DOCUMENTS &  RETURN SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS. Failure to follow these sampling & shipping instructions may result in a hazardous storage condition, significant regulatory agency fines or criminal charges. All rented kit equipment must be returned in good condition or a replacement fee will be imposed.

Proper Sampling & Shipping is the most important step in testing your CO2!

Please contact us if you have any questions about the safe and proper use of this kit or the return shipment process.
