Sulfalert 1 Total Sulfur Analyzer

SulfAlert I

Total Sulfur Analyzer

To ensure that your bev-grade CO2 meets ISBT guidelines for Total Sulfur Content (TSC*), ALI offers the SulfAlert I. This rugged, compact, low-cost analyzer allows you to quickly obtain TSC data as described in ISBT Method 13.0. A reliable mini-reactor, Nickel (Ni) catalyst tube + controlled reactor gas flow (hydrogen at 20 cc/min) are used to convert all sulfur-containing impurities into H2S. In this reductive mode, a high sensitivity H2S detector tube (yellow-red/pink color change) is used to accurately determine the TSC present (including: Hydrogen Sulfide, Carbonyl Sulfide [COS], Methyl Mercaptan, Di-Methyl Sulfide + Carbon Disulfide!) down to v low ppb levels! SulfAlert I units are ideal for routine, on-site TSC testing, or as a back-ups for expensive / complex electronic sulfur monitors. Both bench-top or rack-mount models are available. The SulfAlert I is designed for:

CO2 Production Facilities - Distribution Depots - Beverage Manufacturing Plants - QC Labs

Easy Installation & Use

A SulfAlert I is simply connected to a pressure-regulated (20 psig [140 kPa]) source of vaporized liquid CO2. A 1/16” Sulfinert passivated transfer line is provided. A pressure-regulated (50 psig, [490 kPa]) low flow source of hydrogen is also connected to the unit. A length of 1/16” ss tubing is available for this purpose. Installation is complete in less than 5 min.

Other TSC instruments that cost 4 - 10X more, use several support gases + vacuum systems+ need complex/costly maintenance, + also require frequent calibration using gas standards or permeation tubes. A SulfAlert I does NOT require calibration standards + only requires a clean source of hydrogen (from either a safe, low flow H2 generator or a small cylinder). The Ni tubes used are designed for long life + simple field replacement. Periodic performance validation checks are easy and rapid to perform.

With a SulfAlert I, non-technical personnel can obtain accurate Total Sulfur results after minimal training.

Support, Supplies & Service

All SulfAlert I Systems include an Operations  + TSC Methods Manual. This literature contains simple instructions + helpful, color pictorial examples. ALI and its worldwide affiliates manage all requests for training, supplies, replacement parts, maintenance/repair + technical service. ALI is a discount distributor of detector tubes and stocks replacement Ni Megawall™ catalyst tubes + other supplies. ALI also offers a special validation standard (low ppm v/v COS in Ar) in small high pressure cylinder (p/n COS-Val1) + passivated connective hardware (p/n CAL-GAS Kit).

SulfAlert I™ System

- A SulfAlert I System + 1 spare Ni Megawall™ Tube + graphite ferrule, 1 Box of H2S Detector Tubes, 3’ (1M) of 1/16” Sulfinert™ inlet tubing + Operations Manual + TSC Methods.

Recommended Accessories

-CAL-Gas Kit: Passivated 2-Stage Pressure Regulator/Delivery System for COS Sample Inlet or Cal Gas Control (p/n PR-25 = 25 psig [173 kPa] max delivery) with Ό” compression inlet + 1/16" compression outlet fitting (not required with GAS-5™ System) + 5’ length of swaged Sulfinert passivated transfer tubing.

-COS-Val1: Nominal 1 ppm v/v certified COS gas std in Argon in a MinimatTM cylinder - for performance validation checks.

-PR-60: 2 Stage Reactor Gas Pressure Regulator with 60 psig (420 kPa) delivery pressure + 1/16” ss connective tubing (specify length of tubing required) - for use with H2 cylinders.

-Matheson Tri-Gas Chrysalis II 150 - 300 c/min H2 Generator (120 or 240 VAC)+ 3’ of 1/16” connective tubing + adapter.

Purchase / Terms of Payment / Delivery Schedule

Purchases can be made by phone / fax / e-mail using a Major Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), Purchase Order (if ALI approved), US Bank Certified Check or E-Bank Transfer. A downpayment is required.Delivery typically requires 4-6 weeks after order placement.

Note 1: Patent Pending

Please contact ALI if you have any questions or require a quotation

A detector tube color change clearly signals the presence of volatile sulfur impurities including COS!
