 Passivated LCO₂ Vaporizers - Pressure Regulators

 In order to properly perform ISBT/CGA/EIGA specified quality testing, ALI offers the VPR-120 and VM-120 series of liquid CO₂ vaporizers. All sample-contacting parts in these rugged units are Sulfinert or Nickel passivated which prevents wall- adsorption or thermocatalytic-decomposition problems that can be experienced with sulfurous and other impurities¹. The VPR-120 series is designed for use in any on-site or laboratory test requiring vaporization of liquid CO₂ . It provides both passivated vaporization and pressure regulation functions for downstream analyzers. All VPR versions are equipped with a combination needle/1800 psig (12,400 kPa) relief valve, heat shield case, ¼” compression inlet/outlet fittings and either a pressure relief-equipped 0-25 psig delivery (PR-25 option) or 0-60 psig delivery (PR-60 option) pressure regulators. VPR models come in either a Straight or 90^o vaporizer-pressure regulator configurations. A VM-120 unit is specifically designed for use in SPC-1L cylinder – GAS-5™ System applications and has two 1800 psig (12,400 kPa) pressure relief valves (upstream & downstream protection) for safety.  Note 1: Heated brass or untreated stainless steel can adsorb or promote the catalytic breakdown of many common LCO₂ impurities, resulting in test errors. Therefore, DO NOT use any non-passivated steel or brass-bodied CO₂ vaporizers for LCO₂ quality testing! 

Models

 VPR-120-X-Y: A Sulfinert passivated LCO₂ vaporizer / pressure regulator (VPR-120 = 120 VAC/ 60 Hz  @ 100 watts). Note: –X must be specified as -25 (PR-25, 0-25 psig delivery range) or -60 (PR-60, 0-60 psig delivery range.The inlet is a ¼” (F) compression fitting. Needle valve/1800 psig (12,400 kPa) burst disk assemblies and straight burst disk fitting (90^o version only) are used for upstream/downstream pressure relief and CO₂ flow control. Note: -Y must be specified as either S = Straight (e.g. for LCO₂ Storage Tank connections) or 90 = 90^o configuration (e.g. for 1L sample cylinder connections). The vaporizer body consists of a seamless heater core/turbulator-equipped vaporization chamber, heat shield case + heat-sensitive "HOT" warning decals. The outlet section is connected to a 2-stage passivated pressure regulator (Model PR-25 = 0 – 25 psig delivery, PR-60 = 0– 60 psig delivery) with a ¼ “ compression outlet port. These units are designed forLCO₂ source vaporization / pressure controlled sampling applications involving ISBT / CGA / EIGA / USP LCO₂ quality testing. All units come with a 1 year warranty*.

 VM-120: A Sulfinert passivated liquid CO₂ vaporizer (VM-120 = 120 VAC @ 100 watts) equipped with a 1/4" compression fitting (F) inlet port, 1800 psig (12,400 kPa) pressure relief inlet fitting, seamless heater core/turbulator-equipped vaporization chamber, heat shield case, heat-sensitive "HOT" warning decals, and combination 90^o needle valve/1/4" NPT(M)-to-1/4" compression (M) outlet fitting. Designed for SPC-1L - GAS-5™ System applications only as GAS-5™ units supply pressure control.This unit come with a 1 year warranty.

- PDISK-1800: A 1800 psig [12,400 kPa] burst disk replacement kit.

- ZCheck-5 Components: A ZCheck-5 is a passivated 5 psig [35 kPa] check valve assembly equipped with an ST-1 inlet line. For example, a ZCheck-5 assembly is strongly recommended for safety purposes during on-site testing applications, whenever a direct connection between vaporizer and ISBT glassware-based tests such as Zahm-Nagel % Purity or Sensory (appearance/odor/taste) test equipment.

- SPRA-1800 + ST-3 + SCFU-3/16 + SHA-3/16 Components: A SPRA-1800 (passivated pressure relief fitting) + ST-5 passivated, 5' [91 cm], high-pressure, flexible ss sampling tubing) + SCFU-3/16 (passivated 1/4" compression union) + SHA-3/16 (passivated 1/4" compression-to-3/16" hose adapter). For example, an SPRA-1800 / ST-5 / SCFU-3/16 assembly+ SHA-3/16 are ideal for connecting a LCO₂ source valve to a VPR-120 or VM-120 then to a PolyBag-1.2Kit for ISBT Method 1.2 sampling, or Minicyl-1.0 Kit for low-pressure ISBT Method 1.0 sampling.
